our little princess

Maël Joy Lucas
(my-el)

(These are for Mikey at work. He requested photos to look at while he's away ;)

Just after I got the epidural.

I was feeling good!

I treasure the first time I get to hold my 'fresh from heaven' baby, I want that moment to last forever.

It feels so good to get rid of that big ol' belly.

Watching TV and eating lunch.

Is there anything more perfect than a precious newborn?

Mabin was so thrilled to see his little sister.
He kept cooing and ahhing at her.

Giving Daddy loves.

They are so cute together.

I couldn't ask for a better father for my babies.

I just can't get over how perfect she is.

Mabin has a thing for light switches.
This one was the ultimate find for him.

Love my babies.

Going home!

Made it to Grandma and Grandpa's for Christmas.
Pretty in pink.

Our little Christmas elf.

We absolutely adore her big ol' squishy cheeks.

book nerd

This is how I find Mabin when I'm done showering.
He makes his little bed and plops down with a good book, waiting for me to finish.

Or this is how I find him when he's patiently waiting for me to get his bath water running.
I'm so glad he loves books as much as I do.
I'm also glad he'll read them on his own because I'm pretty sure I have our children's book collection (which isn't small!) memorized.
I've done at least one thing right.

'tis the season

I normally don't begin celebrating Christmas until Thanksgiving is over but this year I was itching to bust out the decorations.
We moved all of our fall/Thanksgiving decorations from the living room to the kitchen and began to make a winter wonderland.
It was November 16th, that's not too early...
I know some people had their Christmas decorations out the day after Halloween.

(You'll notice Mabin's blankie.
He must have that with him when we are home.
If he has it, he has to be wearing it like a scarf.
We made a rule he can't take it out of the house, which he follows surprisingly well, considering how attached he is to it.)

Mabin was too cute helping Mikey decorate the tree.
I always end up sitting back and watching because they are adorable together.
We have very kid friendly ornaments so we don’t have to stress about our kid(s) messing with the tree. Mabin is so cute playing with it and rearranging the ornaments daily.

It's the perfect little tree for us.

Mabin noticed that our stockings looked an awful lot like his socks and decided he had to try them out.

This is him saying "no" when I asked if he wanted to take them off.

Here's our little bit of Christmas in the kitchen.
At least until Thanksgiving was over.
Mabin will come and chat with Frosty throughout the day.

Thanksgiving

These are the only photos I got of Thanksgiving.
At least there is one of each of my boys.
It was a wonderful day spent with my brother and his family in Vancouver.
Mabin had too much junk food, not enough real food and too much fun playing with his cousins.
Perfect day for him.

There's my cute little Sci-Fi nerd 'reading' Dune waiting for dinner.
