a text from my baby boy

This is a text I received from my boys while I was in my Research and Methods class on Friday.
Melted my heart.

"hi mommy, it's mabin.
daddy showed me how to text.
we've been playing, and dad just fed me applesauce and i ate A LOT!
almost the whole jar. I am a good boy huh?
and don't worry, dad remembered not to use my bib as a napkin.
he used a clorox wipe.
it worked good.
jk mommy.
what kind of dad do you think i have?
he says i am about to take a bath and get ready.
i'm looking forward to the bath but you know i don't like getting dressed.
well i think i have to poop and daddy is going to have to change me again.
ha what a sucker.
i miss you so much and love ya.
long live my mommy!
(dad told me to say that, don't know why)
love your boy,
mabin!"

I'm 8 months old!

So... I still don't like to sit up.
Momma tries to make me practice but I'm not having any of it.
I am, however, rolling both ways now.
And boy is it great.
I can get wherever I want by rolling.
I  love when I see Momma or Daddy pull out a jar of my baby food.
I do my happy screeching, kicking dance.

My college schedule goes like this:

Monday:
I get to play with my Aunt Hannah (one of Aunt Seren's best friends) while Momma goes to three classes that day. She has a break in between them so we get to have lunch together.
Tuesday:
Momma's friend (and old roommate) Lindsey watches me while Momma is at her one and only class that day. Her class is an early morning one which means I'm in my pjs until we get home again. I love being at Lindsey's because her baby, Will, is only a few weeks younger than me.
We're great pals.
Plus he has fun toys.
The rest of the day Momma and I get to hangout at home.
Wednesday:
Daddy doesn't have his internship on Wednesdays so we get to play and play all day. He takes good care of me and is always making me laugh. We have lots of videos to prove it.
Thursday:
Another day spent with Lindsey and Will.
I also get to go on campus with Momma for a group meeting she has every Thursday.
It's so awesome!
So many people to watch.
And the other group members shower me with attention.
I don't even care that it's during my late- morning nap.
Friday:
Another day Daddy doesn't have his internship so I get to hangout with him.
I'm pretty lucky, I know.
Saturday/Sunday
My favorite days of the week because I get to be with both Momma and Daddy all day.

College isn't so bad, I don't know what all the fuss is about.

Phone V

How Mikey keeps Mabes from getting food everywhere.
This was before we started feeding him in a Bumbo.
It might look like he's pinning him down but really it's just a light resistance.
Promise.
Mabin started thinking it was a game so it actually made matters worse.

One of my most favorite photos of my little boy.

Mikey gave me this "iPood" shirt for Valentine's Day in 2011.
 Before we were married.
He said it was for our future children.
I thought it was so funny and cute and just like Mikey to get me this teeny t-shirt instead of chocolates or jewelry for Valentine's Day.

And I must say, Mabin looks pretty stinkin adorable in it.
Good call Mikey, good call.

sick boy

Poor Mabin got sick again.
I hate hearing him cough.
Breaks my heart.
The breathing treatments we had to give him didn't seem to bother him nearly as much this time around.

I LOVE his face.
Looks terrified.

Now he's happy.

Labor Day Weekend @ Bear Lake

We got to spend Labor Day weekend in Bear Lake at Mitch and Heidi's cabin.
(Mikey's oldest sister).
They always spoil us and it's always so good to be with family.
Two of Mikey's other sisters, Jodie and Kirty, came up with their kids.
His brother, Rob, also came up with a friend.

These are the only photos we got with everyone there.
Of course we managed to get one of Mabes.

We don't look thrilled but I promise, we love every minute of being together.
At least I do, can't speak for Kirty.
:)

Bloomington Lake
Side story:
The new apartment we moved into was disgusting.
It smelled like smoke and hadn't been professionally cleaned (even though we were told it had been). Mikey and I aren't picky, we can handle pretty much anything but I was not OK with having Mabin on the carpet or breathing in that third-hand smoke.
So we asked (very kindly) if we could transfer apartments and they said we could.
Hallelujah!
But we couldn't move to our new new apartment until Tuesday.
So our stuff sat in our new (and gross) apartment, all packed up, for a week.
We were really grateful Heidi and Mitch let us stay with them so we didn't have to go home to that nasty place.
We hiked to Bloomington Lake with them instead.

The water was freezing!
Didn't stop Rylee...

or Mabes...

or Megan.

Love how happy this little boy is.

Our take on Waite Week

This week was crazy and fun.
We moved on Saturday so when we weren't in Idaho Falls playing we were packing and cleaning.
Luckily I was pretty smart and packed almost everything the week before Sara and Tev came .
We were so sick of boxes and junk being everywhere by the time we moved.

Monday:
FHE at Twin Bridges.

Cooking tinfoil dinners.

Water was freezing! Kids didn't seem to mind.

Little boy loves water.

Tuesday:
Water party at Chase's, picnic at the park for Chelsea's birthday and game night at the Jemmett's.

Watching "My Little Pony".

Sara and Harrison

Thatchey Boy took such good care of Mabes.

Sara and Mikey fell asleep and missed out on Spoons.

Sunday:
Church, lunch at Chase's and saying goodbye :(

This is my favorite photo of the whole week.
We miss Sara, Tev, Adelaide and Annabelle every day.
So glad they got to come visit.
